How is my baby's cord blood sent to your laboratory?
For the shipping of cord blood from the labor and delivery room to our facility, we use five different couriers selected based on location, time of day, day of year, etc. The cord blood must be received in our facility and processed within 48 hours of birth.

How long will the cells remain viable in the bag after collection?
Typically, cells remain viable in the bag up to 72 hours. However, our Standard Operating Procedures regulates the processing time to be complete within 48 hours to ensure optimum quality.

Do your couriers use of chain of custody - can it be tracked?
Yes. Every courier we use gives us the ability to track exactly where the package is at any given time.

What if I do not live in the U.S.?
We have an international courier service available for private storages. This service will pick up your cord blood from anywhere in the world and deliver it to our laboratory within the 48 hour time restraint.

Will I receive a confirmation that my baby's cord blood has been stored successfully?
Yes, a Cryobanks Representative personally calls our clients to notify them upon receiving the cord blood and after the cord blood is successfully processed. A written letter of completion is sent as well, to confirm the storage.
